After opening its doors to students in 2010, Riojas Elementary School in Plugerville received Exemplary School distinction for the 2010–2011 school year, according to the accountability standards set by the Texas Education Agency for student performance on the TAKS test. Riojas Elementary is just one of 24 campuses in Pflugerville Independent School District that exceeded accountability standards.
